With an ambitious business initiative to increase sales and market share in the home entertainment arena, the client was looking for a Director of Trade Marketing who could implement and execute the necessary plans and strategies.
A long-term client of Optia needed to appoint a new Director of trade marketing to increase their sales of home entertainment products in the market. They needed a candidate with a lot of ‘below the line’ marketing/promotions experience and strong trade knowledge; a difficult combination to find in the Japan market. Optia identified a candidate for the role that had both advertising agency and client side experience at a world wide beverage company. The candidate’s combination of trade marketing and advertising experience was a perfect match, and after 3 weeks of interviews with the President and other stake holders in the company, the candidate was hired. Knowing both ‘client’ side and agency side candidates helped our client select someone with a well rounded and rare set of experiences and skills for the role.
