Takara is a part of the Advertising and Consumer Goods team of Optia Partners where she performs searches in the Online Media Development and Marketing industry. Takara recruits professionals experienced in the areas of Web and Mobile Interface Design and Development, Product Marketing, and E-Marketing and Advertising, and Online Business Development; and has developed an extensive network of candidates in these areas.
Her experiences prior to joining Optia Partners include three years in Marketing and Advertising in the property management industry of the Washington, D.C. Metro area. Takara also served as an enlisted soldier in the U.S. Army National Guard, specializing in IT in the signal and communications corps.
Originally from Decatur, Alabama, Takara graduated cum laude with a BA, in Political Science and International Relations from Howard University located in Washington, D.C. Shortly after graduating, Takara was awarded a prestigious J. William Fulbright Fellowship, sponsored by the U.S. State Department, and relocated to Japan to attend Sendai’s Tohoku University where she researched gender, higher education, and career-choices of women in Japan.
Takara brings with her a passion for developing online technology and computers; and an ability to make both clients and candidates feel at ease during the search process. In her spare-time, she enjoys salsa dancing, live jazz, and collecting vintage computer equipment.
