Max Knight
Representative Director
Max Knight is one of two founding members of Optia Partners and has resided in Tokyo since 1992. Originally from Australia, Max holds a degree in Japanese and Business Studies from Griffith University, Australia. In addition to managing the company's overall operations, he is also responsible for conducting searches in Financial Services.
Max has been recruiting in Financial Services in Japan since 1997 and has assisted many global and local firms achieve their hiring objectives. During this time he has developed a large and diverse network of candidates and clients at all levels within the local finance community. Max’s primary areas of coverage include all aspects of Investment Banking with a strong focus on Advisory, Primary Markets, Private Equity Investment and Real Estate related searches.

Nick Germantsis
Managing Director
Nick is one of the two founding members of Optia Partners and has resided in Tokyo since 1992. Originally from Australia, Nick graduated from Melbourne’s Newport College and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Electrical Mechanics with a minor in Electronics. Over the following 10 years Nick continued his career as a licensed Electrical Mechanic in Australia, the UK and Japan.
With his engineering background, Nick has focused on recruiting in Japan’s technical and manufacturing markets since January 1999 and continues to support multinational companies with their business expansion and hiring initiatives in the region. Nick’s role at Optia involves supporting the Technical and Manufacturing recruiting teams and providing overall management support for the company.

Bruce Robinson
General Manager
Bruce joined Optia Partners in 2008 as the General Manager after nearly 20 years of working in Japan in Sapporo, Yokohama and Tokyo in the education, automotive and pharmaceutical industries. Prior to Optia, Bruce most recently held general management positions in the Japan consumer healthcare divisions of some of the major global pharmaceutical companies. This experience has given Bruce a deep appreciation of the value that executive search services provide to both employees and employers by matching a candidate’s background and skill set with a client company’s particular employment needs.
Originally from the United States, Bruce has a B.A. degree in Art History from the Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. At Optia, Bruce provides overall business planning and management support for the operations of the various Industry Teams and the Administrative Group.
