Steve Martin

Steve Martin is responsible for leading the Professional Services team as Industry Partner. Originally from England, Steve holds a degree in Economics from Salford University in Manchester. Prior to coming to Japan, he worked in the satellite communications industry.
Steve has lived in Japan since 1980. He worked in sales and marketing in the publishing sector for many years and began his executive search career in Tokyo in 1996. He brings a wealth of recruiting experience and knowledge to Optia Partners and has been instrumental in the growth of the company as one of the starting members.
Steve specializes in executive search in Human Resources and conducts HR searches across all industry sectors. He has placed an extensive number of HR professionals ranging from HR Directors and Managers to recruiting, training and C&B specialists. Additionally Steve has proven recruiting experience in other critical functions such as Finance and Accounting and Information Technology.
Steve works hard to continually expand and maintain a strong network of contacts and estimates having met more than 400 Human Resource career professionals in the last 3 years, adding to his indirect network of over 2000 HR professionals.
